Merging validates the self-certifying community_id before adopting keys, keeps tombstones permanent, and lets the newest of added_at/removed_at win, so a stale device can never resurrect a community you left. Leaving is a two-tap control in the room's invite panel (the built-in coinos community is exempt) and publishes a guestbook Leave alongside the tombstone.
