* Media pager: past the last slide, a "fetching the next video" screen — and ↵Adam Soltys2 days1-1/+4
| | | | | | | the next one, when it comes, is moved onto. Adam reached the last clip before the next was in, and a swipe only nudged the clip and sprang back. Now the pager ends in a screen of its own: a ring sweeping round, three sparks orbiting the other way, the play mark (a picture mark in a pictures pager) breathing in the middle, and "Fetching the next video…" (or "Fetching more pictures…") with a sheen running through it, all still under prefers-reduced-motion. Landing there stops the clip left behind and asks for more at once (the feed pages on; the media grid's pager crawls); slides that arrive go in above it, and one arriving while the reader waits is moved onto and plays. With nothing older to be had (the feed at its end, or the media index), it says "That's everything for now" and goes still. The scroller no longer anchors (overflow-anchor: none), so a slide put in above the screen doesn't hold the screen in view. Strings in all 20 languages. tools/pager-tail-test.js (relays that take 3 s for anything older: the screen at the end, the clip behind stopped, the next clip moved onto and playing, the end saying that's everything, Escape onto the last clip's post); feed-pager-ahead and feed-media-views count slides without it. * Renewing asks first, and a renewal links to its round's transactionAdam Soltys11 days1-1/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - The coins page's Renew button opens a confirmation instead of renewing at once: how many coins, their amount, the fee, and what is left to spend meanwhile — with a red notice when that is nothing (the button selects every coin by default, which is how a user locked their whole balance for an hour on 2026-10-03). It says the coins can't be spent until the round's transaction confirms and that a renewal can't be cancelled; the wallet renews for free near expiry anyway. The inline notice from 328f2db moves into it. - A renewal keeps its round's transaction id as soon as the round has run (before it confirms): the in-progress card on the coins page links to it, and the finished renewal's history row carries it, so its detail shows the id with View/Copy like any on-chain movement. Renewals finished before this change have no id recorded. tools/ark/renew-confirm-ui-test.js, tools/ark/renew-txid-test.js Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <[email protected]> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01ULQZS9MQa6iAsXnrJUD9Du
* A Lightning payment that can't be covered says why, not 'Payment failed'Adam Soltys11 days1-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A user renewed all ten of their coins (55,611 sats) from the coins page, tried to pay a 55,300-sat invoice three minutes later, and was told only 'Payment failed'. Nothing had failed: the renewal's round ran at once, but its coins stay unspendable until the round's transaction confirms on-chain, and that block took 64 minutes. The quote found no spendable coin and gave up with the generic message; nothing reached the server. - The quote now tells apart (lnShortfall): money held by another payment (wait, as before — now by sum, not one coin covering it all), money a renewal holds ('Nothing was sent. N sats are being renewed…'), and a real shortfall ('needs X sats with its fee, Y available'). Coins leaving in an offboard or exit are never waited for. - The manager's 'insufficient ark balance' names a renewal too. - The coins page says before the tap that renewed coins can't be spent until the round confirms, and that renewing every coin leaves nothing to pay with meanwhile. tools/ark/ln-shortfall-test.js Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <[email protected]> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01ULQZS9MQa6iAsXnrJUD9Du
* Videos: know what a clip costs before fetching it; vertical clips onlyAdam Soltys11 days1-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - What a clip costs is learned up front: the post's imeta (size, dim, image) when it says, else one 64 KB ranged request — the total from Content-Range, whether ranges are served, whether the MP4's index (moov) comes before its data, and the picture size from the track header. Up to three at a time; remembered across sessions. It also replaces the player-based shape probe the feed ran on every clip. - Clips over 25 MB (8 MB on 2G/3G, 3 MB with data saver), above 1080p, index-last files over 8 MB from servers without ranges, or clips that couldn't be measured wait for a tap: a cover saying what they cost ("50 MB", "4K"). Settings → Nostr → Videos: Autoplay large videos. - The pager loads only the clip on screen in full; the next gets its opening if within budget; everything else holds nothing. Sizes are asked three slides ahead. - Feed clips fetch nothing until they're about to play (preload none), with the post's still as a poster. - Video grid tiles show a first frame only for small clips that start quickly; others show their cost. - Videos lists only clips known to stand taller than wide; one of unknown shape is measured and joins when it qualifies; choosing Videos with none known yet opens the pager on the first that turns up. * Feed media views: a grid of pictures, videos to flip throughAdam Soltys11 days1-1/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | All / Images / Videos sits under the feed chips (remembered). - Images lays the feed's pictures out as a three-column grid. - Videos opens straight into a full-screen pager: one clip per screen, snapping, the one on screen playing with sound (muted with an Unmute button when the browser refuses), the next a flick or ↓ away. Closing it leaves a grid of the clips. - The pager shows only the media until tapped; a tap shows the author (tap for their profile), the post's words as a caption without the media links (tap to expand), and likes and sats in the bottom right, which also like and zap. - It is a place: Back or Escape closes it. Built outside the morph, so a repaint never restarts a clip; off-screen clips let go of their media. - Near the end of the grid or the pager the feed fetches older posts and new slides are appended. - Toasts now sit above full-screen viewers. tools/feed-media-views-test.js Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01ULQZS9MQa6iAsXnrJUD9Du
* Settings → Nostr: manage your relaysAdam Soltys12 days1-1/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A Relays card edits the two relay lists other Nostr apps go by: the NIP-65 list (each relay Read, Write or both) and the NIP-17 DM inbox. Each relay shows whether it answers (a dot; 'unreachable' spelled out). Both lists are replaceable events other clients write too, so the card edits only a copy it looked up across the index and archive relays, looks again just before publishing, and backs off (reloading the newer copy) if another app saved since. Only a list that changed is republished, to the relays it names, the ones it used to name, and the indexers. Saving updates our own idea of where we write (outbox lookups and wallet sync relays) and resubscribes the DM inbox at once. tools/relays-settings-test.js Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01ULQZS9MQa6iAsXnrJUD9Du
* Feed form: relays and an every-post firehose; its Back works; a stronger ↵Adam Soltys13 days1-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | new-post tint - The new/edit feed form gets a Relays field (read this feed from these relays only) and "Every post on these relays", which saves a firehose feed (optionally curated) named after its relay and hides the people, packs and topics it doesn't need. It used to take a hand-typed /feed/all?r= link. - The form's Back did nothing visible: opening it made no history entry, so Back went to the page behind the feed and left the form up. The editor (and the gear page's Spending/Savings view) are now part of the navigation state. - New-post tint 9% -> 16% green in light mode; dark mode unchanged. - tools/feed-editor-relays-test.js. * Profile npub: full and monospace again, behind a Public key linkAdam Soltys13 days1-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | The truncated key button took a whole row on every profile. A "Public key" link now ends the Following/Followers line; it reveals the npub in full, monospace, tap to copy, and hides it again. * Balance card gear replaces Accounts; Spending's coins live behind itAdam Soltys13 days1-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - The "Accounts" pill on each balance face is now a gear. It opens that face's settings: Spending leads with its coins (renewal, the co-operative move to Savings, unilateral exit), then Security (lock, change password), the recovery phrase, auto-logout; Savings adds its public key. A wallet with no nostr identity also gets sign-in and log-out there, since it has no profile page to hold them. - The exit cost is no longer said under the balance; the Spending settings state it, always, not only when coin chains run deep. - The lone Manage link under the balance is gone (the gear is the way in); warning notices that are about the coins link to the same page. - The Accounts list, Add wallet and Delete all are no longer reached from the wallet (Delete all stays behind profile > Log out > forget). - Tests follow the gear: padlock-ask, lock-wallet and account-access pass again; cooperative-exit-ui clicks the Spending gear. * Never write a follow list over one we failed to findAdam Soltys13 days1-1/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A kind 3 is replaceable: publishing one built on a list we didn't find wipes the real one wherever it lands. 2026-10-02, an Amethyst user with 398 follows (kept on her own relays and an archive) signed in to coinos for the first time; the starter-follows seed asked only our relays, saw nothing, and published Adam + coinos over her list. - deepContactList: our relays, the profile indexes, the archives, the person's own NIP-65 write relays, and Primal's signed copy (verified). - Starter follows only for a key with no follow list AND no profile anywhere ('new' meant new to coinos, not new to nostr). - A follow, follow-many or mute made while we have never seen the list does the deep lookup first and builds on what it finds. - Settings > Nostr > Follow list: find older copies on history-keeping relays and restore one as a union with the current list (nobody is removed), for anyone already hit. - tools/follows-overwrite-test.js: fake relay network, only an archive holds the list; fails on the old code with the exact two-person event. * Profiles show Following and Followers, each a list you can openAdam Soltys13 days1-1/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Under the bio: "116 Following · 572 Followers". Tapping either opens the people below it (50 at a time); tapping a person opens their profile. Follows are the person's kind 3, now read from Primal's cache alongside the relays (a list kept only on their outbox relays used to read as nobody). Followers, which no relay counts, come from Primal: the count from user_profile, the list from user_followers, a first screenful fast and the rest after, without reordering what is on screen. Every event taken from Primal is signature-checked in the verify worker first, and the profiles among them fill names and faces the relays lacked. Also translates the post-zap "no address" message. * Copy: no more em dashes, anywhere people read.Adam Soltys2026-09-271-2/+2

* Call it 'Lock wallet', because that is what it doesAdam Soltys2026-08-031-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 'Logout' promises a return to a fresh app with nothing of yours left on it. This closes the open wallet and keeps everything saved, which is why it read as interchangeable with 'Clear all' — the one that really does send you back to the beginning. Renamed via a new key rather than rewording the old one: nineteen locale tables carry their own word for 'Logout' and t() prefers the locale's value, so reusing the key would have kept the wrong meaning in every language but English. The dead key is dropped from those files; they fall back to English until translated. * Tab strip: Receive / Send / History — Settings lives in the avatar menuAdam Soltys2026-08-021-1/+0
| | | | | | | | The offline banner points at Settings→Advanced for snapshot import now that there's no Settings tab; its stale translations fall back. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <[email protected]> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01Wvj4aoeMZwA7VUGdJP9Swi
* Sync just works: NIP-65 relays, no card; gift-locking leftovers goneAdam Soltys2026-08-021-7/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Device sync card and toggle are gone — sync is always on, riding the user's own NIP-65 (kind 10002) write relays: the login npub's first, else the wallet key's, coinos relay as the fallback and always included. A fresh wallet identity with no NIP-65 publishes one (default relay) so other clients can find its events. The npub-locked-gift remnants go with it: the per-wallet nostr address card that pitched gift-locking, the how-it-works sentence, the dead NostrSync.sendDM/sendNostrDM path, and the orphaned claim-code field. * Wording: the accounts screen says WalletsAdam Soltys2026-08-021-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | They're called wallets everywhere else — Add wallet, Wallet 1, wallet settings — so the list heading matches. Stale locale translations pruned to fall back. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <[email protected]> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01Wvj4aoeMZwA7VUGdJP9Swi
* How it works: condense the basics to three paragraphsAdam Soltys2026-08-021-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | Twelve words + what losing them means, one paragraph; no-server plus offline, one paragraph; standards/restorability, one line. Stale locale translations pruned to fall back to English. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <[email protected]> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01Wvj4aoeMZwA7VUGdJP9Swi
* How it works: drop the block-explorer mentionAdam Soltys2026-08-021-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | electrum.coinos.io is the default data source now, not mempool.space, and the basics card reads better without plumbing details. Stale locale translations of the paragraph fall back to the new English. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <[email protected]> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01Wvj4aoeMZwA7VUGdJP9Swi
* Rebrand: hal → coinos v3Adam Soltys2026-08-021-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | The app already presents as Coinos; this finishes the job in the repo: package name, README, GitHub link, code comments, and the stale locale lines that still explained the old "Hal Wallet" name (they fall back to the English tribute line). Kept: the hal-nwc-pouch IndexedDB name (an upgrade-compat identifier), the halwallet.app domain in the BIP-353 names feature (live infrastructure), and the Hal Finney tribute itself. * Add dark mode; gift amount unit toggle; multi-input giftsAdam Soltys2026-06-241-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Dark mode: theme variables + a footer "Dark mode/Light mode" toggle, persisted and applied pre-paint via a small head script (defaults to the OS preference). Hardcoded surfaces moved to CSS variables. - Gift amount: the unit label is now the clickable sats/BTC toggle, and the amount is parsed in the selected unit. - Gifts can now span multiple coins: createGift selects several confirmed coins (first input SIGHASH_SINGLE to lock the change, the rest SIGHASH_NONE), so a gift larger than any single coin works. Claim/preview sum all inputs and size the fee by input count. Verified end-to-end. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Relabel tx explorer link to "View on block explorer"Adam Soltys2026-06-241-1/+1
| | | | | | | The link already targets the selected explorer (explorerTx); only the label said mempool.space. Now generic, across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Rename "Lock all" to "Clear all" with confirmation; editable wallet namesAdam Soltys2026-06-241-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | - The Accounts action is now "Clear all", which prompts a confirmation warning that any wallet whose recovery phrase/key isn't backed up will be lost. Confirming wipes everything from the device: session accounts, the encrypted vault, and saved watch-only accounts. - Each account has a rename (✎) control: edit the label inline and save. Persists to the session, the watch-only store, and the vault as needed. New strings translated across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Fold watch-only into Import; support xprv spending importAdam Soltys2026-06-241-2/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Home screen is back to two tabs (Create / Import). The Import box now takes a recovery phrase, an xpub/zpub, or an xprv/zprv: - mnemonic → full wallet (as before) - xpub/zpub → watch-only (view/receive, no Send) - xprv/zprv → full spending wallet with no mnemonic. parseExtendedKey classifies + normalizes version bytes; account() derives the BIP84 path from a master xprv (depth 0) or uses an account-level xprv as-is; signing works (only watch-only blocks it). Vault persists xprv accounts too; Settings shows an "Imported key" note instead of a recovery card and hides Nostr sync (no seed). Public-key export still works. Note: a seed phrase cannot be derived from an xprv (one-way KDF), so an xprv wallet has no recovery words by design. New strings in all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Add optional password-encrypted persistence for full accountsAdam Soltys2026-06-241-1/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Per-account "Save on this device" encrypts a seed account into a localStorage vault (scrypt KDF + XChaCha20-Poly1305 via @noble), so it survives a browser close. On reopen, a vault prompt unlocks all saved wallets with the password (or "Use another wallet" to skip). Default stays session-only; the password is held only in memory for the session and re-encrypts on save/forget. Wrong password fails closed (AEAD). Adds @noble/ciphers dependency. New strings translated across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Add account switching and watch-only walletsAdam Soltys2026-06-241-1/+18
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Accounts: a switcher (header chip → Accounts screen) lets you keep several wallets loaded and flip between them without re-importing. Per the chosen model, full (seed) accounts live only in sessionStorage — ephemeral, no seed on disk; watch-only accounts (no seed) are persisted in localStorage and reload across restarts. enterWallet is refactored around an accounts list (add/switch/remove/lock); Add wallet reaches the unlock screen with a back button. Watch-only: load any wallet from its account xpub/zpub (parseAccountKey normalizes zpub→xpub; the existing public-derivation path yields the same addresses). Signing is blocked, the Send tab and seed/sync/offline cards are hidden, and a watch-only note is shown. Settings gains a "Public key" card (export this wallet's zpub) so it can be watched read-only elsewhere. Password-encrypted persistence for full accounts is the planned next step. New strings translated across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Fee-aware gift minimum; move gift entrypoint to Send pageAdam Soltys2026-06-241-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Minimum: the flat 546-sat floor is replaced by a fee-aware minimum (dust + one claim fee of headroom, floored at 546) via giftMinimum(), so the recipient clears dust comfortably even if fees rise before they claim — e.g. ~1000 sats at 5 sat/vB, ~7300 at 50. The create form shows the live minimum and rejects below it; buildClaimTx keeps the hard 294-sat dust guard as a final backstop (claim fails rather than handing over dust). UI: the gift entrypoint moves from Settings to a "Gift some Bitcoin" link on the Send page, opening the gift view as a send sub-view with a back button. New strings translated across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Keep reclaimed gifts revocable until the coin is spentAdam Soltys2026-06-241-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | Passive reclaim previously dropped the coin from tracking, so there was no way to revoke afterward. Now reclaim moves the coin from "reserved" to a "reclaimed" set: it becomes spendable, but its still-live link stays listed (tagged "still claimable") with a Revoke option, until the coin is actually spent (by a payment or by revoking), at which point it drops off. revokeGift and outstandingGifts handle both sets; existing reserved gifts are unaffected. Strings updated across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Offer passive reclaim vs immediate revoke for giftsAdam Soltys2026-06-241-3/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | The reserved-coin button is now "Reclaim". Tapping it prompts a choice: - Reclaim (free): just un-reserves the coin so a future payment can spend it — no fee, but the link stays claimable until then. - Revoke now (pays a fee): sweeps the coin back immediately, killing the link once it confirms. New/updated strings translated across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Make gift Reclaim a real on-chain revokeAdam Soltys2026-06-241-3/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | The old "Reclaim" only un-reserved the coin locally, so the gift link stayed claimable. Replace it with "Revoke": a confirmed action that sweeps the reserved coin back into the sender's own wallet at a high fee (wallet.revokeGift), double-spending the gift's presigned input so the link can't be claimed once it confirms. Races a simultaneous claimer; if the gift was already claimed the broadcast just fails. New strings translated across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Replace seed gift links with presigned PSBT claim linksAdam Soltys2026-06-241-4/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Gifting no longer shares a seed. "Gift some Bitcoin" (Settings) presigns a chosen amount as a #gift= link: one SIGHASH_SINGLE input (the sender's change output is cryptographically fixed, so a front-runner can only take the gift portion, never the change) plus the rest left open. The coin is reserved per-wallet so normal sends skip it; reclaim it anytime. Opening the link generates a brand-new wallet the sender never sees, shows the amount, and on Claim adds the claimer's address as the output, finalizes, and broadcasts — then prompts backup of the fresh seed. This gives forward secrecy (sender locked out once confirmed), one-shot semantics (claiming spends the input), and keeps funds in the sender's wallet until claimed. Crypto verified end-to-end (sign NONE/SINGLE -> add output -> finalize -> valid tx; deterministic-signature equality proves the presigned sig is valid for any output the claimer picks). Strings retranslated across all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Add shareable gift links for fast onboardingAdam Soltys2026-06-241-1/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Create a #claim=<code> link from Settings → "Gift this wallet" (gated behind a reveal + warning, with a QR): the seed (and passphrase, if any) are encoded as BIP39 entropy in base64url in the URL fragment, which never reaches a server. Opening such a link loads that wallet and shows a welcome → balance → firm "back up your recovery phrase" flow, then drops into the wallet. The claim code is scrubbed from the address bar on load. Bearer by design — whoever opens the link controls the funds — so the creator UI warns to keep amounts small. New strings translated into all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Add fee-rate picker to RBF bumpAdam Soltys2026-06-241-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | Bump now opens its own screen with the Economy/Normal/Priority/Custom fee tiers (defaults to Priority) and a live "fee: old → new" preview as you change the rate, then Replace builds + signs + broadcasts. Refactor bumpTx into prepareBump (async fetch/reconstruct) + planBump (pure preview) + buildBump (sign), so the picker can preview each rate without rebuilding. New bumpInsufficient string translated into all 19 locales. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Add RBF fee bumping for unconfirmed sendsAdam Soltys2026-06-241-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Signal opt-in RBF (BIP125, sequence 0xfffffffd) on all new sends so they're replaceable. - "Bump fee" on an unconfirmed sent tx (its detail view): rebuilds the same inputs + recipient outputs at the Priority rate, taking the extra fee from the change output (pulling in a confirmed coin if change can't cover it), re-signs, and routes to a "Replace with a higher fee?" confirmation showing old → new fee before broadcasting. - New keys translated into all 19 locales. Honest scope: P2A/TRUC/package-relay are L2/pre-signed-tx + node-relay features that don't apply to a single-sig wallet broadcasting single txs via public explorers, so they're intentionally out. CPFP (for receives / unbumpable sends) is a possible follow-up. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <[email protected]>
* Split translations into per-language files, lazy-loadedAdam Soltys2026-06-241-0/+145
Only English is bundled in index.html now; the other 19 languages are emitted as dist/locales/<code>.json and fetched on demand when a visitor actually uses one (via auto-detect, the picker, or ?lang=xx). This drops index.html from ~511KB to ~318KB; a non-English visitor fetches just their one ~8-10KB locale, which the service worker then caches for offline use. t() falls back to English until a locale resolves. - i18n.js keeps only en + a loadLocale() fetcher; locale data moved to src/locales/*.json. - build.js emits dist/locales/; dev.js serves /locales/<code>.json. - Deploy hook publishes the locales/ subdir.
